Here is a Christmas crochet ornaments idea that you can use even without Christmas tree ! A nice Christmas wall hanging 100% handmade
Material
Cotton yarn (ie : Scheepjes Catona, in red and gold)
2.5mm hook (C)
Fiberfill
Tapestry needle
Embroidery floss and needle (i.e. white or gold)
(Optional) a sanded piece of wood
Abbreviations
st: stitch
ch : chain
sc: single crochet
inc : increase (2 single crochet in one stitch)
dec : decrease (I use invisible decrease when possible)
(…; …)*x : repeat “x” number of time the instructions between brackets
Pattern
With red yarn, make a magic ring.
R1: sc6 in the magic ring (6)
R2: inc*6 (12)
R3: (sc1, inc)*6 (18)
R4: sc1, inc, (sc2, inc)*5, sc1 (24)
R5: (sc3, inc)*6 (30)
R6: sc2, inc, (sc4, inc)*5, sc2 (36)
R7: (sc5, inc)*6 (42)
R8 à R14 (7 rounds) : sc in each st around (42)
R15 : (sc5, dec)*6 (36)
R16 : sc2, dec, (sc4, dec)*5, sc2 (30)
R17 : (sc3, dec)*6 (24)
Stuff and continue as you go.
R18 : sc1, dec, (sc2, dec)*5, sc1(18)
R19 : (sc1, dec)*6 (12)
Change to golden yarn.
R20 : In the FRONT loops only, sc in each st around (12)
R21 : In both loops, sc in each st around (12)
R22 : In the BACK loops only, dec*6 (6)
Fasten off leaving a long tail for closing and making a small tie.
Embroideries
Emboirder 4 little stars on each ornaments. They should be 6 rounds high and 4 stitches wide.
Assemblage
Make 3 or 4 ornaments and hang them on the piece of wood that you have sanded and oiled !
